National League League MVP Award odds and best bet at All-Star break
By Reed Wallach
The Atlanta Braves have emerged as the World Series front runner, and with that comes MVP praise for the team's best player.
Ronald Acuna Jr. is at or near the top of plenty of batting categories, including batting average and stolen bases in addition to WAR, which has propelled him as the odds on favorite to win National League MVP this season.
Acuna is 15 stolen bases clear of the closest player in the National League and nearly one full win above Mookie Betts in terms of WAR, a big indicator of MVP year over year.
Chasing Acuna are a pair of Los Angeles Dodgers, Betts and Freddie Freeman, who play for the second best team in the NL with plenty of pop this season. Betts is second in NL home runs while Freeman has been incredibly efficient at the plate, posting a near-.400 on-base percentage.
After that, there is a significant drop-off with Juan Soto sitting as the fourth choice, but at a distant +3000 as separation is growing between the Braves and the rest of the National League.
