Nationals vs. Angels Prediction and Odds for Saturday, May 7 (The Top Half Of LA's Lineup On A Tear)
By Matt De Saro
The Washington Nationals and Los Angeles Angels play for just the second time since 2017 on Saturday night. It is just the series the Angels needed to keep their three-game winning streak alive. This is because the Nationals have looked objectively bad in their first 28 games. The Nats are 3-12 straight up in their last 15 games and were shut out by the Angels last night 3-0. At 9-19, the Nationals are holding down last place in the NL East and might remain there for a while.
The Angles, meanwhile, are 10-3 in their last 13 games with back-to-back shutouts against the Red Sox and Nationals. The Angels rebounded nicely after getting shut out in three of the six games they played before the Nats series.

Nationals vs. Angels Prediction and Pick
I won’t complicate this pick too much as I feel this game is pretty straightforward. The Nationals are struggling. And it’s not a new problem. It’s something they have been doing all season. On the other hand, the Angels lead the AL West with an 18-10 record. There have been some low points, but the Angels haven’t stayed down long. They’ve won their last two games by a combined score of 11-0 and could be on the verge of breaking out.
The Angels have one of the most dangerous lineups in the MLB and could easily force the Nats starter, Josiah Gray, out of the game early. This would be a problem as the Nats’ bullpen ERA is over 4.00 this season.
This is the seventh straight road game the Nationals will play and I don’t see it going their way.
Pick: Angels ML -150
