While the world awaits the inevitable trade of Nationals' superstar Juan Soto, we do still have baseball games to play.

Lefty Patrick Corbin is expected to be a salary dump in the Soto trade but will start today after giving up nine earned runs in his last two starts. To call him dreadful would be an understatement, as Corbin has a 7.19 road ERA and Washington is 1-7 in those outings.

Arizona sends Zac Gallen to the hill looking for his first win since May. Unlike Corbin, Gallen has actually been solid this season, compiling a 3.56 ERA.

Can Gallen finally get back in the win column or will Washington pull off a miracle behind one of the worst starters in MLB?

Let's check out the odds from WynnBET Sportsbook to help find out ahead of this Nationals vs Diamondbacks matchup:

Nationals vs Diamondbacks Prediction and Pick

Every single time I've written up a Patrick Corbin start, I've faded him. That's not changing today, as Corbin belongs at your local YMCA, not your local MLB ballpark. His 5.66 expected ERA is the worst of all qualified starting pitchers and his MLB Statcast Pitching Profile is an unmitigated disaster:

Arizona has the sixth-highest OPS against left-handed pitchers over the last three weeks and should tee off on Corbin.

While Zac Gallen has his fair share of poor outings too, he's miles better than Corbin and gives the Diamondbacks an edge in this one. He's allowed two or fewer runs in 12 of his 17 starts, though he has given up a home run in five straight.

Despite my worry Soto goes on a tear prior to being traded, I'll stick to my guns and roll with Arizona. It's Corbin day, after all, coming to a YMCA near you.

Pick: Diamondbacks
