Someone will punch their ticket to March Madness today as the No. 2 Navy Midshipmen take on the No. 1 Colgate Raiders in the Patriot League Championship Game tonight at 7:30 PM EST.

Colgate earned victories of 19 points and five points over Navy in the regular season and have won 14 straight en route to the conference finals. The Midshipmen are no slouch though, having won seven of their last nine.

Can Navy pull off an upset and make it to the NCAA Tournament or will Colgate stay hot and slam the door on the Midshipmen's hopes and dreams?

Let's take a gander at the odds at WynnBET to help pick a winner:

Navy vs Colgate Odds, Spread and Total

Spread

  • Navy +6.5 (-110)
  • Colgate -6.5 (-110)

Moneyline:

  • Navy +238
  • Colgate -295

Total:

  • 129 (Over -110/Under -110)

Navy vs Colgate Prediction and Pick

Colgate is a team you want to know ahead of March Madness. The Raiders are in the 98th percentile in offensive rating and 91st in defensive in the country. They've got the 13th-best effective field goal percentage thanks to the 2nd-highest three-point shooting percentage in all of college basketball.

Navy, meanwhile, is in a bit of a skid. They're 4-7 against the spread (ATS) in their last 11 and have fallen to the 2nd percentile in effective field goal percentage over their last five. Defensively, they're strong, but you can't score if you don't make shots and they're not making any shots right now.

At 2-4 ATS in their last six as an underdog, they've struggled to keep up with teams whose offenses can overpower them. That's exactly what Colgate can do. The Raiders dropped 81 points in their last game and 96 the game before that, covering the spread in those by an average of just under 10 points in those wins. I show value on them to continue their incredible offensive play and think they get the cover here.

But I also like the over. Despite Navy's offensive deficiencies, they're in the 99th percentile in free throw attempts thanks to one of the highest offensive rebounding rates in the nation. The over is 4-1 in the Midshipmen's last five as an underdog and 3-1 in Colgate's last four as they're enjoying the spoils of an offensive explosion. With a moderately close spread, it's likely we'll see free throws at the end of the game give us both a Colgate cover and an over cash.

Pick: Colgate -6.5 (-110) and over 128.5 (-110)
