The Navy Midshipmen head into Chapman Stadium on Friday night to face off against the Tulsa Golden Hurricane.  Navy is currently second to last in the AAC with a 1-6 record and might finish with the worst record its ever had. Things won’t get any easier this week in Tulsa, as the Midshipmen are 10.5-point underdogs to the Golden Hurricane.

Tulsa is 3-4, fourth-ranked in the AAC, and is riding a modest two-game winning streak. After dropping three straight to start the season, including an embarrassing 19-17 loss to UC Davis, Tulsa has won three of their its last four. With wins over Memphis and USF in back-to-back weeks, the Golden Hurricane looks like a team on the rise.

Here are the odds for this matchup between one of the best and worst teams the AAC has, courtesy of WynnBET Sportsbook.

Navy vs. Tulsa Prediction and Pick

One thing I will say for Navy is that it has looked very good in its recent losses. I realize that sounds weird, but it is true. Three weeks ago against SMU, Navy put up a fight and managed to keep the game within a touchdown. Last weekend, Navy nearly upset No. 2 Cincinnati before falling 27-20. In between those two wins was a 35-17 loss to Memphis, which put Navy back into perspective.

The problem with Navy continues to be its lack of offense. Its defense, however, has been playing very well and might cause the Golden Hurricane some problems. The Midshipmen held Cincinnati to just 271 yards overall last week and the Bearcats’ offense is far and away better than Tulsa’s.

Based on Navy’s “success” against much tougher teams so far this year, its strong defense, and some injury issues on the other side. I’ll be siding with the Midshipmen to cover on Friday night.

Prediction: Navy +10.5 (-110)
