The Miami Heat are on the brink of elimination tonight in Boston. They lost Game 5 after the Celtics went on a dominant run at the end of the third quarter. Miami just couldn’t keep up with Boston’s offense.

I have a few props for tonight, that reflect how I think this game will go. Let’s dive into them.

NBA Best Bets Today

  • Miami Heat +9 (-108)
  • Robert Williams 3+ Blocks (+155)
  • P.J. Tucker 2+ Threes (+190)

Miami Heat +9 (-108)

I’m probably a little more optimistic about the Heat’s chances in this series than most, so I’m going to back them tonight. The margins in this series have been extremely close and a majority of these games have been decided by one run in the game that blows the doors wide open. Game 5 was the first game we saw any kind of back-and-forth.

The issue with the Heat was that Max Struss and Kyle Lowry have a historically bad shooting performance. Miami is clearly injured, but all they need is Lowry or Struss to hit one or two shots amidst a Celtics run to stop the bleeding and keep it close.

I refuse to believe the Heat will go out sad, so taking the points is my favorite bet of the night.

Robert Williams 3+ Blocks (+155)

Williams has cleared this line twice in this series and I think we’re going to see it again. Williams isn’t just getting blocks in the paint, but he’s also closing out on shooters in the corner. Williams’ defensive versatility is one of the Celtics’ biggest strengths. With the physicality of this series starting to show, Williams might be able to get on the board with blocks.

P.J. Tucker 2+ Threes (+190)

I won’t lie. Tucker hasn’t looked great from three in the last three games. He’s shooting 17% since Miami’s last win. However, the volume is there. He’s taken at least five threes in two of the last three games. If Butler and Adebayo are going to be inside, Tucker will have pockets to shoot from. Miami needs somebody to make a shot and I expect everyone to have the green light. If Tyler Herro remains out, watch Tucker thrive as one of the biggest shooting threats Miami has.
