NBA Best Bets Today (Predictions for Devin Booker, Cade Cunningham, Grizzlies-Nets and More)
By Peter Dewey
The NBA Best Bets column is running hot in the month of March, and I’ve got four picks to make for Wednesday’s action in what is a loaded slate.
While we won’t get to see Ja Morant and Kevin Durant go head-to-head, I still have a pick in the Memphis Grizzlies-Brooklyn Nets game as well as two player props to take on Thursday.
Let’s break down today’s picks!

NBA Best Bets Today
- Miami Heat -7 vs. Golden State Warriors (-105)
- Brooklyn Nets Moneyline vs. Memphis Grizzlies (-130)
- Devin Booker OVER 38.5 Points, Rebounds and Assists (-125)
- Cade Cunningham OVER 21.5 Points (-110)
Golden State Warriors vs. Miami Heat: Heat -7 (-105)
The Golden State Warriors are a mess without Steph Curry, as they scored just 90 points on Tuesday and lost to the lowly Orlando Magic.
Now, Golden State will go on the road on the second night of a back-to-back against the Eastern Conference-leading Miami Heat.
Jimmy Butler and Tyler Herro are both questionable for Miami, but we have to wonder if the Warriors will let Draymond Green and Klay Thompson play on a back-to-back as they are both coming back from injury.
I’ve talked about this at nauseam, but the Warriors are a much different team without Curry in the lineup this season. I bet this game as I said in my game preview earlier, and the line has since moved from Heat -7, to Heat -10.
Golden State is plus-10.1 points per 100 possessions with him on the floor this season, and just plus-1.4 points per 100 possessions when he sits.
Not ideal.
I don’t mind backing the under in this game because Golden State simply doesn’t have the same offensive attack without Curry, but I’m actually going to back the Heat to grab the win and cover tonight.
Miami is 11th in the NBA in offensive rating and fifth in defensive rating this season, and it has shown it can win without one of its stars in the lineup. Butler was questionable entering Miami’s last game, but he still ended up suiting up in the team’s loss to the Philadelphia 76ers.
This is Miami’s game to lose.
Brooklyn Nets vs. Memphis Grizzlies: Nets Moneyline (-130)
The Brooklyn Nets and Memphis Grizzlies will face off on Wednesday, but we won’t get the marquee showdown between Kyrie Irving, Kevin Durant and Ja Morant.
Morant has been ruled out for the matchup with right knee soreness, but the Nets are just slight favorites on the road against a tough Memphis team.
The Grizzlies are a shocking 14-2 straight up without Morant this season, but can they keep that up against Brooklyn?
At some point, the Grizzlies are going to run out of gas without Morant, and I think it may come tonight.
Brooklyn has been playing really well lately, going 6-4 over its last 10 games and winning two straight heading into this matchup. The Nets have also been much better on the road (22-15 straight up) because they can actually have Irving play in those games.
Brooklyn is 11-8 against the spread as a road favorite this season, while Memphis is just 3-3 ATS as a home underdog.
I think this is a game where Durant and Irving can pull off the win, so I’ll back the Nets on the moneyline.
Devin Booker OVER 38.5 Points, Rebounds and Assists (-125)
Devin Booker and the Phoenix Suns will get a tough matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday, but I love this points, rebounds and assists prop for DBook.
Booker has cleared this line in seven of his 10 games since Chris Paul broke his thumb, and he’s averaging 28.2 points, 4.8 rebounds and 7.0 assists per game over that stretch.
Tonight, he gets a surging Wolves team that plays at the fastest pace in the NBA this season and over the last 10 games. There are going to be plenty of possessions in this matchup, and I think Booker makes the most of them with the ball in his hands more often than not.
Cade Cunningham OVER 21.5 Points (-110)
There’s a theme in my NBA Best Bets columns, and it is that I love attacking the same players in player props when I think the number is just too low.
Cunningham falls into this category on Wednesday as he and the Detroit Pistons are facing an Atlanta Hawks team that is bottom five in the league in defensive rating and playing on the second night of a back-to-back.
Cunningham’s prop was at 24.5 on Monday, and he hit the over, and he’s cleared 21.5 points in six of his last eight games. I’m all over Cade to continue his hot stretch since the All-Star break.
