NBA Best Bets Today (Predictions for Cade Cunningham, Nuggets-Kings and Donovan Mitchell)
By Peter Dewey
We’ve got 12 NBA games on tap on Wednesday night, and there’s some really solid playoff-caliber matchups between the Atlanta Hawks and Milwaukee Bucks, Phoenix Suns and Miami Heat and Boston Celtics and Charlotte Hornets.
We nearly had a 3-1 night in the NBA Best Bets column, but Lamar Stevens was unable to hit two free throws to give the Cleveland Cavaliers the cover on Tuesday.
Player prop picks have really been what is working for myself and the BetSided team lately, so I’ve got a few for tonight's action.
Let’s break down today’s picks:

NBA Best Bets Today
- Denver Nuggets -4.5 vs. Sacramento Kings (-110)
- Donovan Mitchell OVER 24.5 Points (+100)
- Cade Cunningham OVER 31.5 Points, Rebounds and Assists (-115)
Denver Nuggets vs. Sacramento Kings: Nuggets -4.5 (-110)
I’m all over Denver in this game, even though it has had to play three games in four days because of a COVID makeup game.
Over their last 10 games, the Nuggets are sixth in defensive rating and ninth in offensive rating, while the Kings rank 24th and 20th in those respective categories. Denver has won nine of its last 10 games as a result.
Denver is also 9-4 against the spread over its last 13 games, and I think it can get another cover considering how the Kings have played lately. Sacramento was destroyed in the second half by the New York Knicks on Tuesday, and it simply doesn’t defend well enough to slow down a Nikola Jokic-led team.
I took this in the morning when I wrote today’s game preview, and since then Domantas Sabonis has been ruled out, moving the line to Denver -6.5.
Donovan Mitchell OVER 24.5 Points (+100)
Donovan Mitchell and the Utah Jazz are 18-point favorites against the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday, and I think Mitchell has a big game against the Blazers No. 28 defense.
Mitchell has cleared this line in five of his last eight games, but he has missed it in three straight games. I’m buying low here for Mitchell, as the Blazers have allowed 120 or more points in four straight games.
Utah has the No. 1 offensive rating in the NBA, so I expect things to cover easy for Mitchell tonight.
Cade Cunningham OVER 31.5 Points, Rebounds and Assists (-115)
Cade Cunningham has been balling lately for the Detroit Pistons, and he’s cleared 31.5 points, rebounds and assists in four straight games and six of his last eight.
Now, Cunningham gets a Chicago Bulls team that has really struggled on the defensive end this season, ranking 21st for the year and 27th over their last 15 games in defensive rating.
Cade has also scored 17 or more points in eight straight games, giving him a solid floor to reach this prop. Give me the over until Cade cools off.
