Let's kick off this Monday with some NBA bets, as we picked up a 2-1 day on Sunday with Tyrese Haliburton coming through on his player prop and the Dallas Mavericks winning and covering against the Boston Celtics.

I've got three more picks for Monday's action, including a pick in the MVP showdown between Nikola Jokic and Joel Embiid.

NBA Best Bets Today

  • Milwaukee Bucks -1.5 vs. Utah Jazz  (-110)
  • Denver Nuggets Moneyline vs. Philadelphia 76ers (+125)
  • De’Aaron Fox OVER 25.5 Points (+100)

Milwaukee Bucks vs. Utah Jazz: Bucks -1.5 (-110)

The Milwaukee Bucks have won six of their last seven games heading into a road matchup with the Utah Jazz on Monday night

Over their last 10 games, the Bucks have the No. 1 offensive rating in the NBA, and they’ll get a Jazz team that could be without Rudy Gobert (questionable) in this game. Utah is just 7-8 when Gobert sits this season, so could this be a spot to get in early on Milwaukee?

I broke this pick down on today’s episode of Bet & Breakfast, and I think this Milwaukee team is peaking at the right time.

The Bucks have been dominant over their last seven, as they have beaten playoff teams in Miami, Chicago and Phoenix and two likely play-in teams in Charlotte and Atlanta.

The Jazz, on the other hand, are 27th in turnover percentage over their last 10 games, something that concerns me against an opportunistic Bucks defense. Conversely, Milwaukee ranks No. 2 in this statistic over its last 10 contests.

Brook Lopez is back for the Bucks tonight, and he should improve their interior defense and space the floor in his minutes. I think Milwaukee continues to stay hot as a slight road favorite, where it is 15-8 against the spread this season.

Denver Nuggets vs. Philadelphia 76ers: Nuggets Moneyline (+125)

The top two MVP candidates in the NBA will face off in Philadelphia on Monday night, as Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets take on Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers.

The Sixers needed overtime to come up with a two-point win over the Orlando Magic on Sunday, and there’s a chance they rest James Harden or Joel Embiid in this game.

Philadelphia is just 3-4 against the spread in back-to-backs this season, and the Sixers haven’t looked particularly good in their last two games, getting blown out by the Brooklyn Nets before yesterday’s close win.

Denver may be sputtering as of late, but the Nuggets are still playing the No. 7 defensive rating and No. 11 offensive rating in the NBA over their last 10 games.

The Nuggets are also 11-9 against the spread as road underdogs this season, and I think there is value on them with the possibility of Embiid or Harden sitting after an overtime game.

I’m going to back Denver to pull off the upset, as Jokic may be able to leapfrog Embiid in the MVP conversation with a dominant performance in their head-to-head matchup.

De’Aaron Fox OVER 25.5 Points (+100)

I love that we’re getting this prop at even money, as De’Aaron Fox is averaging 29.1 points per game over his last 14 games since returning from injury.

The Sacramento Kings star has cleared this line in 11 of those 14 games, and now he gets a Chicago Bulls team that has fallen all the way to 21st in the NBA in defensive rating.

Fox has been playing some of his best basketball of the year with Buddy Hield and Tyrese Haliburton gone, as the ball is in his hands a whole lot more. Give me the over on this all day.
