NBA Best Bets Today (Predictions for Josh Hart, Grizzlies-Knicks and Tyrese Haliburton)
By Peter Dewey
Sunday’s NBA action gets started early, so why not make a few early best bets?
The Portland Trail Blazers and Brooklyn Nets face off to start the action at 3 p.m. EST, and there’s some value in taking Josh Hart to clear a certain prop in this game.
Sticking in New York, Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies take on the New York Knicks, who may not have Jalen Brunson (questionable) in this game. How should we bet it?
Lastly, Tyrese Haliburton has been an assist machine, and his line for Sunday’s game with the Los Angeles Clippers has had some interesting movement.
Let’s dive into the picks:
NBA Best Bets Record to Date
- NBA Best Bets Record for 2022-23 Season: 59-50-1 (+2.2848 units)
NBA Best Bets Today
- Josh Hart OVER 22.5 Points, Rebounds and Assists (-115)
- Memphis Grizzlies Moneyline (-140) vs. New York Knicks
- Tyrese Haliburton OVER 10.5 Assists (-135)
Josh Hart OVER 22.5 Points, Rebounds and Assists (-115)
Josh Hart pulled down 19 rebounds in the Blazers’ win over the Knicks on Friday night, and he’s taken a slightly bigger role with Damian Lillard (calf) out of the lineup.
One of the best rebounding guards in the league, Hart has a favorable matchup here against a Nets team that ranks dead last in the NBA in rebounding percentage.
Hart is averaging 9.6 points, 8.7 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game, clearing this prop in three of his last four games. If Hart pushes double-digits points, which he’s done in three of four, he’s almost a lock to go OVER this number.
Memphis Grizzlies Moneyline (-140) vs. New York Knicks
The New York Knicks have all sorts of problems on the defensive end this season, and now they may be without their best player in Brunson on Sunday.
With Derrick Rose (toe, questionable) also potentially out for this game, the Knicks lack the depth to hang with Ja Morant and the Grizzlies.
This line will likely move if Brunson is ruled out, so I don’t mind laying a little juice early on the Grizz to get the win. New York is just 4-4 at MSG this season and has struggled mightily against teams that are over .500.
Tyrese Haliburton OVER 10.5 Assists (-135)
Tyrese Haliburton has been an assist machine, picking up 11 or more dimes in eight of his last nine games.
Hali has seen his assist prop climb to 11.5 at some books, but today it’s back down to 10.5 against the Los Angeles Clippers and their No. 2 defense.
While this may seem like a trap, the Pacers have the No. 2 assist percentage in the NBA this season thanks to Haliburton, and he should have plenty of chances to clear this line
He’s averaging over 11 dimes per game this season, so this feels like a value line considering he’s put up at least 14 assists in four straight.
