The Dallas Mavericks find themselves in a familiar position on Sunday, as they are down 2-0 in the Western Conference Finals against the Golden State Warriors as the series shifts back to Dallas.

Luka Doncic and company overcame a 2-0 deficit against the Phoenix Suns in the Western Conference semifinals, but do they have what it takes to beat this Warriors team?

I have a pair of plays, one prop and one spread pick, for Game 3 on Sunday night

NBA Best Bets Today

  • Klay Thompson OVER 2.5 Assists (-120)
  • Golden State Warriors +3 vs. Dallas Mavericks (-110)

Klay Thompson OVER 2.5 Assists (-120)

We haven’t seen Klay Thompson really light up the stat sheet in this series from a scoring perspective, but he’s been smart about his shots, averaging 15.0 points per game while shooting 56.5 percent from the field.

The other impressive part of Thompson’s game has been his willingness to get his teammates involved in this series, posting four and five assists in the first two games.

Klay isn’t known for his playmaking, but the Warriors continue to find the open man with Dallas trying to blitz Steph Curry and Thompson.

Thompson has tallied three or more dimes in six of his last nine games, and he’s had just one game all postseason where he failed to notch an assist.

It may seem high at 2.5, but I think Klay continues to move the ball well against this Dallas defense that lacks any real rim protection.

Golden State Warriors +3 vs. Dallas Mavericks (-110)

Even though the Mavericks have surprised everyone this postseason, I don’t think they’re going to run away with Game 3, if they even win at all.

Dallas played about as perfect of a first half as it could in Game 2, making 14 3-pointers and dominating the Warriors on the offensive end. However, the team wilted in the second half, allowing the Warriors to erase a 19-point deficit.

The crazy thing is Dallas really played about as good of a game as you could ask. The Mavs hit 21 shots from beyond the arc, shooting 46.7 percent on those attempts, and won the turnover battle.

The Warriors are getting huge games from Kevon Looney down low because Dallas lacks rim protection, and I don’t think the team can just hunt switches for Luka Doncic against this Warriors team.

I think we see a close game in Game 3, and I wouldn’t be shocked if Golden State picked up the win.
