NBA Best Bets Today (Predictions for Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Tyrese Haliburton and Knicks-Sixers)
By Peter Dewey
We've got a loaded slate in the NBA on Wednesday night, but I'm feeling some player props that we have been riding this week over picking multiple games tonight.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Tyrese Haliburton have come through for us in the NBA Best Bets column this week, and we're going back to the well... cause why not?
Let's break down today's picks!

NBA Best Bets Today
- Shai Gilgeous-Alexander OVER 25.5 Points (-125)
- Philadelphia 76ers -10.5 vs. New York Knicks (-110)
- Tyrese Haliburton OVER 16.5 Points (-115)
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander OVER 25.5 Points (-125)
We’re going back to the well on a Shai Gilgeous-Alexander prop, as he’s averaging 35 points per game since returning after the All-Star break from injury.
SGA has put up 32, 36 and 37 points over the last three games, and he’s taking 20.7 shots per game over that stretch.
The Denver Nuggets are 11th in the NBA in defensive rating, but I think SGA gets plenty of chances to score the ball in this game. I took the over on his points at 27.5 in the Oklahoma City Thunder’s last game, so I love getting this number back down at 25.5 with Josh Giddey and Lu Dort both still out.
New York Knicks vs. Philadelphia 76ers: Sixers -10.5 (-110)
The New York Knicks and Philadelphia 76ers will face off for the second straight game after the Sixers used a late run to down New York by 16 at Madison Square Garden on Sunday.
The Knicks are an absolute mess right now, losing five straight and nine of their last 10, and they’ll have to deal with the elite duo of James Harden and Joel Embiid once again.
If you’re thinking of betting on the Knicks tonight… don’t.
New York has not only been losing just about every game lately, but the Knicks have failed to cover in nine of their last 10 and five straight as well.
The only time the Knicks have covered the spread this month was in their upset win over the Golden State Warriors.
The step up in class to Embiid and Harden is not going to do the Knicks any good, as they have not shot the ball well (27th in effective field goal percentage) or been elite on defense (17th in defensive rating) all season.
It may seem like a lot of points to lay with Philly, but Embiid and Harden are too dominant to expect this putrid Knicks offense to hang around.
Tyrese Haliburton OVER 16.5 Points (-115)
Sticking with another prop that I took this week and backing Tyrese Haliburton to keep scoring the ball at a high rate against the Orlando Magic on Wednesday.
Since getting traded to the Indiana Pacers, Haliburton has scored 17 or more points in six of seven games, and now he gets an Orlando team that is bottom 10 in the league in defensive rating.
The Pacers don’t have many options on offense, so until the market adjusts I’m going to trust Haliburton to keep scoring the ball. He’s averaging 20.3 points per game in Indiana this season.
