NBA Best Bets Today (Predictions for Josh Giddey, Spurs-Cavs and Warriors-Jazz)
By Peter Dewey
Welcome to the Josh Giddey edition of NBA Best Bets!
No, seriously, I'm all over the Oklahoma City Thunder rookie's props tonight, and I have a pair of road tams I'm backing as well.
Giddey has been money since Shai Gilgeous-Alexander went down with an injury, so let's hope he stays hot to let us cash big tonight.

NBA Best Bets Record to Date
- NBA Best Bets Record: 116-125-2
NBA Best Bets Today
- San Antonio Spurs +6 vs. Cleveland Cavaliers (-110)
- Golden State Warriors Moneyline vs. Utah Jazz (+110)
- Josh Giddey OVER 6.5 Rebounds (-110) and OVER 12.5 Points (-120)
San Antonio Spurs vs. Cleveland Cavaliers: Spurs +6 (-110)
Darius Garland’s status (questionable) is really going to drive the line in this game, but I think we may be getting some value on the Spurs in this game as they’ve gone 12-8 against the spread as road underdogs this season.
Dejounte Murray is an All-Star this season, and he could give the Cavs fits, especially if Garland is unable to go. Cleveland has cooled off against the spread after an insane start to the season, covering in just three of their last nine games.
The market has adjusted on Cleveland, and while LeVert does help the Cavs’ ceiling, I’m not sure how he is going to mesh with the team in his first action.
San Antonio is seventh in the NBA in offensive rating over its last 10 games, and I think the Spurs keep this thing close on Wednesday night.
Golden State Warriors vs. Utah Jazz: Warriors Moneyline (+110)
The Golden State Warriors have won nine straight games entering their matchup with the Utah Jazz on Wednesday night.
Utah has picked up three straight wins of its own, and Donovan Mitchell has been playing really well since returning from a concussion.
Both teams are banged up in this matchup, as the Warriors won’t have Klay Thompson (rest), Draymond Green, Andre Iguodala and Nemanja Bjelica in this game. Rudy Gobert (calf) is still out for the Jazz, so does that create some betting value on Golden State?
I’m surprised to see the Warriors as underdogs in this game, especially since they played so well early in the season with Thompson out. Sure, Klay adds a new element to this roster, but the Warriors are dependent on him to win ball games.
The Jazz, on the other hand, have struggled mightily without Rudy Gobert, allowing a defensive rating of 118.5 in 12 games without him this season. The Warriors enter this game with the best defensive rating in the NBA, so I think they could take advantage of a weaker Jazz unit on Wednesday.
Steph Curry is due for a big game, and it’s possible that Thompson’s absence will help him get going. I’ll take the Warriors to win 10 straight and pull off the upset.
Josh Giddey OVER 6.5 Rebounds (-110) and OVER 12.5 Points (-120)
Josh Giddey is averaging 12.1 points and 7.6 rebounds per game this season, and he’s seen an expanded role recently with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander out of the lineup.
Giddey is averaging 16.5 points and 8.5 rebounds over his last six games while taking 15.0 shots per game and playing 25.4 minutes per night. He’s facing a Raptors team that is 16th in the NBA in rebounding percentage tonight, and he’s cleared the rebounds side of these props in nine of his last 12 games.
As for points, Giddey has scored 14 plus points in six straight, and I think we’re getting some value on this against a Raptors team that has played some high-scoring games as of late.
I’m all in on Giddey tonight.
