NBA Finals Game 2 Prop Bets - A Healthy Giannis Should Smash His Point Total
By Ben Heisler
Giannis Antetokoumpo wasn't even supposed to be on the floor for Game 1.
Yet days after suffering a gruesome hyperextended knee injury, the Greek Freak found a way to prevail and was active for the start of the NBA Finals.
Despite a 118-105 loss, Antetokoumpo still gave Milwaukee more than 35 minutes on the floor, scoring an efficient 20 points on 6 of 11 shots, while still racking up 17 rebounds.
Ahead of Game 2 tonight, WynnBET has listed Antetokoumpo's projected point total at 25.5, juiced up to -120 on the OVER.
Over the regular season, Antetokoumpo played some of his best basketball of the season against Phoenix. He averaged 40 points per game in their two regular-season matchups, which was the highest average of players who had at least two games against the Suns.
Stats guru John Schuhmann of NBA.com also points out that his 47-point performance on February 10 was the highest-scoring game for anyone against Phoenix all season, and that his 21 free throws in that game were tied for the second-most attempts allowed by the Suns all year.
Antetokoumpo may have only accounted for 20 points in Game 1, but he only attempted 11 shots, making six of them while adding in seven free throws out of 13 attempts. Hitting 26 points is not only a reasonable number for Giannis to hit, it should be expected.
Should the number move up or stay at 26.5, which is where several other sportsbooks currently have it, I still like Antetokoumpo's opportunity tonight to hit the over. In a crucial Game 2, he'll need to assert himself further offensively, take advantage of mismatches in the paint, and hopefully knock down a few more three throws along the way.
Do you agree that The Greek Freak will hit the over on his point prop?
