NBA Power Rankings Based on NBA Championship Odds After Week 15
The Association is constantly changing, and keeping up with who looks best can be difficult. Every week, I'll be providing my NBA Power Rankings for each team in relation to their NBA title odds.
Here's how things stand after the first few weeks of action. All odds listed are via WynnBET.
1. Phoenix Suns (+450, LW: No. 1)
There's not much I can say about Phoenix at this point in the season. They're a great team and we'll be excited to see them in the playoffs.
2. Golden State Warriors (+450, LW: No. 5)
Steph Curry's reawakening makes the Warriors dangerous again. Golden State has won six games in a row. Now all they need is for Draymond Green to come back.
3. Memphis Grizzlies (+3000, LW: No. 3)
Memphis is still one of the best stories of the season. With Golden State coming back to life, it looks like the No. 3 seed will belong to the Grizzlies.
4. Chicago Bulls (+2500, LW: No. 11)
The Bulls are getting healthier by the day and that's huge for a team that is still atop the Eastern Conference. With LaVine and DeRozan there, Chicago is just fine.
5. Philadelphia 76ers (+1800, LW: No. 9)
Joel Embiid is, and rightfully should be, the favorite to win MVP this year. He's carrying the Sixers right now and they are only 0.5 games out of the No. 1 seed in the East.
6. Miami Heat (+1400, LW: No. 2)
Miami lost an overtime thriller to Toronto last week and lost Jimmy Butler in the process. The Heat haven't been able to be stay healthy, and that is going to cost them a few games here and there.
7. Cleveland Cavaliers (+5000, LW: No. 7)
Cleveland is just hanging around waiting to make its move. The Cavs are only one game out of first place and have an easy schedule the rest of the way.
8. Dallas Mavericks (+5000, LW: No. 8)
The Mavericks are within striking distance of home court advantage in the first round. With Luka Doncic running the show, Dallas has a great chance of getting to the No. 4 seed.
9. Milwaukee Bucks (+650, LW: No. 4)
Milwaukee looks like a team waiting for the playoffs to come. The Bucks look bored with regular season competition, on top of the fact they haven't been fully healthy all season.
10. Denver Nuggets (+5000, LW: No. 13)
Nikola Jokic is in the same situation as Joel Embiid, but doesn't have as many wins. The Nuggets can still get to the top 4 of the conference with a good final stretch.
11. Brooklyn Nets (+275, LW: No. 6)
Brooklyn, once again, is going through injury issues. The Nets have lost 4-6 and can't seem to find their way.
12. Utah Jazz (+1200, LW: No. 10)
Utah is crumbling right now. The Jazz have lost five in a row and could drop to the No. 6 seed by the end of this next week.
13. Charlotte Hornets (+20000, LW: No. 12)
Charlotte continues to push forward as a slightly above average team. They are now within striking distance of the Nets to be out of the play-in.
14. Boston Celtics (+10000, LW: No. 15)
Boston is starting to put the pieces together. While the Celtics have been inconsistent this season, their two stars hitting their strides at the same time is a great sign.
15. Minnesota Timberwolves (+20000, LW: No. 16)
The Timberwolves are a long winning streak away from moving up in the standings, but one loss away from dropping down. They'll need to string some wins together to avoid being caught.
16. Toronto Raptors (+25000, LW: No. 17)
Toronto won a thriller last week and followed it up with a win. Putting wins together is what will help them separate from the rest of the play-in teams.
17. Los Angeles Lakers (+1800, LW: No. 14)
Los Angeles can't stay healthy, so they will have to fall. Until I see more, the Lakers are just an unlucky team.
18. Atlanta Hawks (+8000, LW: No. 22)
Atlanta has revived itself, again, and is now in the No. 10 seed in the East. With Trae Young playing at an all-star level, the Hawks have a chance to do something special.
19. Portland Trail Blazers (+20000, LW: No. 18)
I just want to take this time to applaud the Blazers for not falling apart. They easily could've been the worst team in the league this year, but here they are -- fighting for a playoff spot.
20. Los Angeles Clippers (+4000, LW: No. 19)
The Clippers are staying relevant, but they won't go anywhere this season. Without Paul George or Kawhi Leonard, they are just waiting to be eliminated in the play-in.
21. New York Knicks (+20000, LW: No. 20)
The Knicks are half a game behind the Atlanta Hawks, who have swooped into the No. 10 seed. The Knicks have rotation issues to figure out, and then they can seriously compete for the No. 10 seed.
22. San Antonio Spurs (+100000, LW: No. 25)
The Spurs have started to play better and can potentially catch the Blazers for the No. 10 spot. However, they would need a legitimate winning streak to make that happen.
23. Washington Wizards (+30000, LW: No. 21)
Washington has lost five straight and is now at the bottom of the standings and at the end of the line to get into the play-in.
24. New Orleans Pelicans (+100000, LW: No. 23)
New Orleans is struggling without Brandon Ingram, but the Pelicans have still shown heart over the last week.
25. Indiana Pacers (+50000, LW: No. 26)
Indiana continues to be just another stop on team's road trips this year.
26. Houston Rockets (+100000, LW: No. 27)
The Rockets felt the wrath of Stephen Curry last night and had their losing streak extended. As of right now, they play hard, just not well.
27. Oklahoma City Thunder (+100000, LW: No. 29)
Oklahoma City has gone 2-8 in its last 10 games. The Thunder are in full tank mode, which is necessary for them and their myriad of draft picks.
28. Sacramento Kings (+100000, LW: No. 24)
Sacramento is falling apart and the Kings have no direction for the rest of the season.
29. Orlando Magic (+500000, LW: No. 30)
The Magic beat the Pistons and that's the only reason why they aren't last this week.
30. Detroit Pistons (+500000, LW: No. 28)
The Pistons won last night and are getting Jerami Grant back, but that doesn't excuse them from their loss to the Magic. When these teams play, the loser has to take the bottom spot.
