11-10 (-0.67 Units)
A 2-2 Thursday puts the team just outside the money, but we have three more cooked up for Friday night.
Here’s what our editors’ are eyeing for tonight’s slate with all odds via WynnBET:
Kevin Durant OVER 29.5 Points (-120)
The Nets offense is struggling relative to expectations, but Kevin Durant is not. The former league MVP is posting shooting splits of 54/36/78 and should have no problem feasting on a Pacers team that is bottom five in defensive efficiency on the year.
The Nets have needed Durant to shoulder the load of the offense with James Harden playing himself into shape after a short offseason and injury in the postseason and Kyrie Irving on the sidelines. Count on Durant to get 30 in this matchup that is a great spot for the Nets offense to get right. -- Reed Wallach
Bam Adebayo OVER 9.5 Rebounds (-130)
Similar to how the Chicago Bulls ran into their toughest test of the season Thursday night in the New York Knicks, so too will the upstart Charlotte Hornets when they travel to Miami to take on the Heat, and I expect Bam Adebayo in the middle of the floor to fully take advantage on the glass.
Charlotte has been the most offensively efficient team in the NBA this season along with playing at a top-4 pace. They average 121.2 points per game and get up and down the court with ease. Meanwhile, they face the top-rated defense in the NBA this year in Miami on their home floor, giving up only 95 points a game.
The Hornets will have far more misses tonight than they're accustomed to, and Adebayo is already averaging just under 13 a game at 12.8; fourth-best in the league. Between Butler locking up LaMelo Ball and Charlotte still attempting to play at a frenetic pace, Adebayo could clear the 9.5 by the 3rd quarter! -- Ben Heisler
Harrison Barnes OVER 17.5 (-120)
Barnes has come to life this season and is playing some of his best basketball right now. He’s averaging close to 27 points per game on 51.4% shooting from the field.
This is a steal, and you should hop all over it. Barnes has become one of the top options on a Kings team that puts up over 110 points per game. Barnes scoring at least 18 is a no-brainer. I would be comfortable up until 21.5 points tonight. -- Donnavan Smoot
