Golden State Warriors OVER 48.5 (+100)
Things are shaping up nicely for the Warriors this season. Maybe I’m galaxy brain thinking this, but another year without Klay Thompson and not being a legitimate title contender may help Golden State long term.
We saw the likes of Jordan Poole and Juan Toscano-Anderson grow into complementary roles in Steve Kerr’s egalitarian offense and the team loaded up on high upside prospects like James Wiseman and Jonathan Kuminga in the past two drafts. Fellow lottery pick Moses Moody is a fantastic piece to add as well as a low usage two-way threat.
Thompson seems on track to come back in the early portion of the season, and while he may not be the defensive player he once was after two devastating injuries, he is still a knockdown shooter who can play off of Steph Curry, who is my favorite NBA bet heading into the season.
Draymond Green can ratchet up the energy still, I expect him to be motivated now that the Big 3 is back together.
The Warriors are a real threat to return to the NBA Finals, and I like them to break 50 wins. -- Reed Wallach
Sacramento Kings Under 36.5 Wins (-116)
The Kings are not good at basketball. They might be the most poorly run franchise in the NBA simply off of their inconsistency and inability to stick to a plan.
Also, they chose Marvin Bagley III over Luka Doncic.
WynnBET has their win total projection at 36.5 and that is way too high. Sacramento had the worst defense in the league with a defensive rating of 117.2 -- which means that they gave up 117.2 points for every 100 possessions. The Kings should be the prime candidate to be blown out on any given night. De’Aaron Fox and Tyrese Haliburton are bright spots, but there is no way the Kings pull off 37 wins and sniff 41 wins. -- Donnavan Smoot
