Nebraska vs. Iowa Prediction and Odds (Expect Plenty of Points)
By Jon Helmkamp
Is this heaven? No, it’s Iowa. Or at least that’s what Ray Kinsella once said. Nebraska will make the short trip to Iowa for a battle of who has better corn.
Let’s start with the odds via WynnBET.
Nebraska vs. Iowa Odds, Spread and Total
Spread:
- Nebraska +16.5 (-110)
- Iowa -16.5 (-110)
Moneyline:
- Nebraska +1000
- Iowa -2000
Total:
- 158.0 (Over -110 | Under -110)
Nebraska vs. Iowa Prediction and Pick
Iowa likes to score a lot of points and Nebraska likes to give up a lot of points, which feels like really bad news for Nebraska. The Corn Huskers allow 78.2 points per game, which ranks way down at 336th. Pretty much all of their defensive metrics are sub-par, to put it nicely. Opponents shoot at a 50.9% effective field goal percentage (229th) and rebound at the third-highest rate in the country with 42.1 per game.
Iowa should have plenty of opportunities to take advantage of the matchup. They score the fifth-most points per game at 83.4. They can pour it in, but they do tend to be a bit weaker on the defensive side of the ball than on the offensive side.
Nebraska has dropped 10 of their last 11 games, but they have a strong trend of their games hitting the over, which has happened in 13 of their last 19 games. Iowa is on a similar stretch, with the total going over in eight of their last 11.
It’s a high total in this game, but I’ll take these two teams to continue their recent trends of hitting the over.
Pick: Over 158.0 (110.0)
