We're in the final stretch of the NFL season, which means there are teams that are desperately clinging on to a spot in the postseason, while others are trying to make one final push for the playoffs.

You can see which team is moving in the right direction at the right time by looking at net yards per play. The stat takes the average amount of yards gained per play on offense and subtracts the amount of given up per play on defense. The remaining number is net yards per play, and it can give us a good look of how an NFL team is performing.

Here are the latest standings at the conclusion of Week 14 action:

Jaguars Continue to Climb Net Yards per Play

The Jacksonville Jaguars are still well on the outside looking in for the AFC South division title, but a Week 14 dominant win over the Tennessee Titans was a strong step forward. Luckily for them, their play has improved over this run as well.

The Jags ranked 20th in net yards per play just two weeks ago, but now they're up to 16th and continue to climb.

They're still two games back from the Titans atop the division, but they'll wrap their season up with a rematch of the game and if they can manage to steal a game from the Cowboys or Jets these next two weeks, they could complete the divisional come back in the final week of the season.

They're 4.5-point underdogs to the Cowboys this week.

Saints and Seahawks Underperforming

There are only two teams who are in the top 10 of net yards per play who aren't currently inside a playoff spot. Those two teams are the New Orleans Saints and the Seattle Seahawks.

With that being said, both teams are still alive. The Seahawks are one spot outside of the postseason and will still have plenty of opportunitites to sneak into the playoffs.

Meanwhile, the Saints are somehow still alive in the race for the NFC South, despite being 4-9. They're only two games back from the division-leading Buccaneers, and this week's game against the Falcons will be looked at as a must-win.

In Week 15, the Seahawks are 3.5-point underdogs to the 49ers on Thursday Night Football, and the Saints are 4-point favorites to the Falcons on Sunday.
