Nets Bettors Have Lost Big During Losing Streak
By Peter Dewey
The Brooklyn Nets have lost four straight games and 17 of their last 20, falling into the No. 9 seed in the Eastern Conference in the process.
Part of that has to do with the team being without Kevin Durant for an extended period of time, and the team had to deal James Harden at the trade deadline for Ben Simmons, who has yet to make his debut with the team.
Oh, and to top it off, Kyrie Irving still can't play in home games because of his desire to remain unvaccinated against COVID-19. It's been less than ideal for the Nets.
Since Durant returned on March 3 against the Miami Heat, the Nets have failed to get back in the win column, losing to the Boston Celtics in their latest game on Sunday.
As a bettor who had the Nets +5 yesterday, the 126-120 defeat was yet another blow to anyone who has backed Brooklyn lately. The Nets are a dismal 6-14 against the spread over their last 20 games.
Essentially, if you've been betting on the Nets you've been losing, and they are the worst team in the NBA against the spread this season at 24-39-2.
If you're looking to bet the Nets at WynnBET Sportsbook, you may be best to stay away when the team is at home and without Irving, as Brooklyn is a dismal 6-24-1 against the spread at Barclays Center, the worst mark by far in the league.
Brooklyn's next matchup will be on Tuesday, March 8 on the road against the Charlotte Hornets. It will be interesting to see if Brooklyn is favored in the game, as Durant being back certainly boosts the team, but the Nets are going to need to make a run late in this season if they want to avoid the play-in tournament in the East.
