Kyrie Irving's Status Improves the Nets' NBA Finals Odds
Kyrie Irving is finally able to play in home games for the Brooklyn Nets, which certainly makes them more dangerous in a seven-game playoff series.
Now, the Nets can have Irving in all seven games, and it will help them even more in the play-in tournament, as the Nets currently have the No. 8 seed and have the potential of playing one play-in game at home. If they lose the No. 7 vs. No. 8 game, it will be extremely helpful to have Irving in the lineup against the winner of the No. 9 vs. No. 10 matchup.
The Eastern Conference is Wide Open
While you may think that the Nets are at a disadvantage because they'll be a lower seed in the Eastern Conference standings, there is no frontrunner in the conference at the moment.
Brooklyn is just 7.5 games behind the top-seeded Philadelphia 76ers (who they blew out recently) and the top six seeds in the East are separated by just 4.5 games.
The Nets have shown they are dangerous as they come when Irving and Durant play together, and it may help them improve upon their lowly record at home against the spread this season (8-26-1).
Don't sleep on a healthy Durant and Irving to win the East, and maybe the NBA title this season.
