The Brooklyn Nets came out of the All-Star break the same way they went in --with a loss. The Nets are now dangerously close to falling below .500 at 31-29 and fourth in the Atlantic Division. Injuries and trades have left Brooklyn with a makeshift roster until Kevin Durant, and eventually Ben Simmons, is able to return. Until then, it seems that the Nets are forced to fight every night to beat even the least talented teams.

Unfortunately for the Nets, the Milwaukee Bucks are one of the best teams in the NBA and, oh yeah, won the championship last year. I wish this game could have taken place when the Nets were at full health but we work with what we have. Here are the odds for this Eastern Conference showdown, courtesy of WynnBET Sportsbook.

Nets vs. Bucks Odds, Spread, and Total

Spread:

  • Nets +9.5 (-110)
  • Bucks -9.5 (-110)

Moneyline:

  • Nets +375
  • Bucks -500

Total: 236 (Over -110/Under -110)

Nets vs. Bucks Prediction and Pick

If you need an update on the state of the Nets right now, look no further than their last game out against the Celtics in Brooklyn. The Nets got beat down 129-106 by Boston who is not a particularly great team. They may be above-average sure, but they aren't the kind of team that should be blowing out a potential playoff team. They were betrayed mostly by their defense that allowed the Celtics to shoot nearly 55% from the field and over 40% from downtown. It was the second straight outright loss and the second straight ATS that the Nets suffered and leaves them with a very poor 4-11 ATS record in their last 15 games.

The Bucks are also coming off a loss but they can thank another dominant performance from Joel Embiid for that one. Giannis nearly hit a triple-double and the Bucks lost a tight 123-120 shootout at home. One positive for the Nets here is that this game is outside of New York, so Kyrie Irving is available to play. However, I don’t think that will be enough help to keep the Nets from losing yet another game ATS in February.

Pick: Bucks -9.5 (-110)
