Nets vs. Cavaliers Prediction and Odds: Injuries Mounting for the Cleveland Cavaliers
By Matt De Saro
The Brooklyn Nets and Cleveland Cavaliers battle tonight at the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Cleveland. It will be a rematch of last week where the Nets came away with a 109-99 victory.
The Nets come off two straight wins over the Magic and Cavs last week and will try to remain hot on the road here. The Nets are 6-2 overall on the road and won nine of 11 overall this year.
The Cavs, meanwhile, are riding a three-game losing streak including an "L" to this Nets team. To no surprise, Cleveland is a home underdog in this game with the spread currently set at 6-points.
Here are the odds for this Eastern Conference showdown courtesy of WynnBET:
Nets vs. Cavaliers Odds, Spread, and Total
Spread:
- Nets: -6.0 (-110)
- Cavs: +6.0 (-110)
Moneyline:
- Nets: -240
- Cavs: +200
Total:
- 209.0 (Over -110/Under -110)
Nets vs. Cavaliers Prediction and Pick
The Cavaliers started the season off on the right foot but have been dealing with several injuries of late. The team got a lot of bad news last week with Colin Sexton being ruled out for the season after tearing his meniscus, and now Evan Mobley remains out with an elbow sprain. More recently, Lamar Stevens is dealing with an ankle injury and Cedi Osman is day-to-day. Both are doubtful to suit up tonight. On a positive note, Jarrett Allen and Lauri Markkanen are not on the injury report today after missing time.
The Cavs should have their hands full with a Nets team playing some of the best basketball in the NBA right now. The 12-5 Nets are first in the Atlantic Division and are 12-2 in their last 14 games overall.
Considering that the Cavs will be without two of their three best players, it is hard to imagine a world where they come away with an upset win here. I think that between Kevin Durant and James Harden, the Nets have more than enough firepower to win and cover this Monday night matchup.
PIck: Brooklyn Nets -6.0 (-110)
