Nets vs. Heat Prediction and Odds (Miami to Make Quick Work of Shorthanded a Brooklyn Team)
By Matt De Saro
The Brooklyn Nets are in a tough spot tonight against the Eastern Conference-leading Miami Heat tonight. The Nets pulled off a blockbuster trade with the Philadelphia 76ers this week that sent James Harden and Paul Milsap to Philly for Ben Simmons, Seth Curry, Andre Drummond, and two first-round picks. While the trade makes the Nets better, in the long run, they will be severely shorthanded tonight as they try to avoid losing their 11th straight game. The Nets were considered contenders in the preseason but have been wildly underperforming. The Heat meanwhile continues to pick up wins and grow their lead in the East. Brookly is on a four-game win streak and should have little trouble upending the understaffed Nets. Here are the odds for this Eastern Conference clash courtesy of WynnBET:
Nets vs. Heat Odds, Spread, and Total
Spread:
- Nets: +11 (-110)
- Heat: -11 (-110)
Moneyline:
- Nets: +475
- Heat: -650
Total:
- 221 (Over -110/Under -110)
Nets vs. Heat Prediction and Pick
The Nets made a great move to make this team better moving forward. But, as of today, they are still an absolute dumpster fire and hard to trust even with a double-digit spread. Even with Tyler Herro, PJ Tucker, and Caleb Martin questionable for tonight, the Nets are still outmatched. The combo of Kyle Lowry and Bam Adebayo will produce points early and often. That would be enough of a problem for the Nets but the Heat also has one of the best defenses in the NBA. They rank fifth in scoring at 104.2 points per game allowed and first in opponent rebounds per game. A backdoor cover is always a worry in games like this, but I think the Heat will keep their foot down and try to run the Nets out of the gym.
Lean: Miami Heat -11 (-110)
