The saga of the summer is finally over... we think.

Kevin Durant met with the Nets key decision makers including owner Joe Tsai, general manager Sean Marks and head coach Steve Nash and the group agreed to "move forward" with their partnership and "bring a championship to Brooklyn."

We'll see how it goes for the NBA's biggest soap opera, but the oddsmakers are well aware that the Nets are better with Durant on the roster than any potential trade package.

Brooklyn Nets Win Total Increases Following Kevin Durant News

The Nets win total opened at sportsbooks at 44.5 as shops were coy to hang a number given the uncertainty around the Durant trade request, which was made on June 30th and stood until Tuesday morning.

However, after Durant relented, more sportsbooks opened a Nets number with 51.5 (Over +100/Under -125) sitting as the consensus number. This number puts Brooklyn behind the Milwaukee Bucks and Boston Celtics and just ahead of the Philadelphia 76ers and Miami Heat.

We'll see how the Nets respond to the tumultuous offseason that included and was not limited to Durant's trade request, Kyrie Irving's contract negotiations and Ben Simmons inactivity.

The talent is on hand to put together a strong regular season, but availability and tensions lead to questions on if they can hit their ceiling.

As of now, reports have surfaced that Simmons has looked great in workouts and despite Durant's trade request, Irving has been in communications with the Nets and appears committed to playing out this one year deal in Brooklyn and putting his future on the backburner.
