Nevada will escape the desert and head to San Diego to take on the San Diego State Aztecs in a matchup that figures to be plenty low-scoring. San Diego State will look to get back in the win column after a loss to Colorado State on Friday.

Let’s start with the odds via WynnBET.

Nevada vs. San Diego State  Prediction and Pick

There isn’t a more automatic bet for me in college basketball right now than betting San Diego State games to go under. The Aztecs boast one of the best defenses in all of college basketball, holding the best adjusted defensive efficiency in the country at 84.3 points per 100 possessions. They limit opponents to 56.9 points per game (3rd), 10.2 assists per game (24th), and a 42.4% effective field goal percentage (5th).

Not only are they great on defense, but they’re the opposite of great on offense. They score only 64.2 points per game, which ranks 307th in the country. It’s a massive discrepancy between how they play on each end of the court. Their effective field goal percentage of 46.9% ranks 293rd, and they make only 5.8 three pointers per game, which ranks 310th.

The Wolf Pack isn’t exactly a juggernaut either. They give up a ton of points to opposing teams, meaning the weak Aztecs offense could be in store for a good game. Nevada allows 75.8 points per game, 308th in the country, while allowing opponents to secure 32.6 rebounds per game (243rd).

San Diego State shouldn’t have a problem at all in this game. I like them to cover, but with a track record of the total going under in 13 of their last 18 games and in five of Nevada’s last six, that’s a much more automatic bet for me.

Pick: Under 131.0 (-110)
