NFL Power Rankings Based on Super Bowl Odds Ahead of Week 15 (NFC Is Eagles' to Lose)
By Peter Dewey
If there's anything we can learn from Week 14 in the NFL, it's that there are a lot of pretenders in the field.
The Seattle Seahawks, Miami Dolphins, Minnesota Vikings, Tennessee Titans and Tampa Bay Buccaneers all lost in Week 14, further muddying the playoff field especially in the NFC.
Meanwhile, the Buffalo Bills, Kansas City Chiefs, Philadelphia Eagles and Cincinnati Bengals continued their winning ways in Week 14, despite all facing tough division opponents (yes, the Denver Broncos were tough for once this year).
How has this shaken up the NFL Power Rankings this week? Here are the latest rankings, and Super Bowl odds, for the 2022 season:
1. Philadelphia Eagles (+450) Last Week: No. 1
Jalen Hurts is now the MVP favorite, and the Eagles dominated the Giants in Week 14 to give themselves a two-game lead in the NFC for the No. 1 seed.
2. Buffalo Bills (+380) LW: No. 2
The Bills held off a late push by the Jets to stay in the No. 1 spot in the AFC.
3. Kansas City Chiefs (+500) LW: No. 3
Patrick Mahomes threw three picks, but the Chiefs made a defensive stand late to hold off a suddenly frisky Broncos team.
4. Cincinnati Bengals (+1100) LW: No. 5
Joe Burrow is 17-3 against the spread in his last 20 games. The Bengals keep winning, and Joey B keeps lining the pockets of his backers.
5. Dallas Cowboys (+900) LW: No. 4
Dallas survived a scare against the Texans with a late drive in the fourth capped by a Zeke Elliott score.
6. San Francisco 49ers (+900) LW: No. 6
Brock Purdy and the 49ers dominated the Bucs, but now Purdy is hurt, so it could be... Josh Johnson in Week 15?
7. Baltimore Ravens (+2200) LW: No. 8
No Lamar Jackson and Tyler Huntley gets hurt, surely the Ravens lost? Wrong! Baltimore held off the Steelers for a huge win to keep the pace in the AFC North.
8. Minnesota Vikings (+2500) LW: No. 7
The Vikings couldn't stop the Lions in Week 14, and it could be time that we see regression from a defense that doesn't have great numbers this season.
9. Miami Dolphins (+2500) LW: No. 9
The Dolphins lost to the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 14, and now they have to go on the road to Buffalo with their playoff chances not as certain as prior to this week.
10. Los Angeles Chargers (+3500) LW: No. 14
Justin Herbert and company kept their playoff hopes alive with a big win on Sunday Night Football.
11. Tennessee Titans (+6000) LW: No. 11
The Titans are still going to win the division, but they got smoked by the Jags in Week 14.
12. Washington Commanders (+9000) LW: No. 13
Washington moves up a spot with the Giants and Seahawks losing in Week 14.
13. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+3000) LW: No. 10
Tom Brady and the Bucs aren't guaranteed to win the NFC South, and this team seems destined to be one and done if it does make the playoffs.
14. New England Patriots (+13000) LW: No. 18
The Pats picked up a huge win on Monday night, and they looked poised to nab a playoff spot in the AFC.
15. Seattle Seahawks (+7000) LW: No. 12
Seattle squandered a huge chance to gain a game on the Giants by losing to the Panthers in Week 14.
16. New York Giants (+20000) LW: No. 15
Nobody expected the Giants to upset the Eagles, but losses from the Seahawks and Bucs certainly helped this team going forward.
17. New York Jets (+11000) LW: No. 16
Mike White was banged up in the Jets' loss to the Bills, which could put them in a tough spot in Week 15.
18. Detroit Lions (+11000) LW: No. 20
The Lions are +250 to make the playoffs, and they may be the hottest team in the NFL at the moment.
19. Cleveland Browns (+30000) LW: No. 17
Cleveland's playoff chances took a major hit with a loss to the Bengals in Week 14.
20. Las Vegas Raiders (+50000) LW: No. 19
The Raiders are going to ... Raiders. Baker Mayfield led a game-winning drive to beat Las Vegas on Thursday night.
21. Atlanta Falcons (+50000) LW: No. 21
The Falcons stay in the No. 21 spot on their Week 14 bye.
22. Green Bay Packers (+25000) LW: No. 22
The bye week leaves Green Bay in the same spot in this week's rankings.
23. Jacksonville Jaguars (+15000) LW: No. 24
If the Jags had beaten the Lions in Week 13, they'd have a legit shot at the division title this season.
24. Arizona Cardinals (+100000) LW: No. 23
Arizona's season is over, as Kyler Murray likely tore his ACL in their Week 14 loss to the Patriots.
25. Carolina Panthers (+20000) LW: No. 28
Sam Darnold is now 2-0 as the Panthers starter this year, and they're alive in the NFC South with the Bucs losing.
26. Los Angeles Rams (+80000) LW: No. 29
Baker Mayfield is auditioning for a future job, and he did pretty well leading the Rams to a win in Week 14.
27. Pittsburgh Steelers (+75000) LW: No. 25
The Steelers squandered a great chance to make a move in the playoff picture, losing to the Ravens with Tyler Huntley going down. Kenny Pickett's injury is the major concern for Pittsburgh.
28. New Orleans Saints (+75000) LW: No. 27
The Saints drop a spot on their bye week.
29. Indianapolis Colts (+100000) LW: No. 26
The Colts dropped a few spots with the Jaguars winning in Week 14.
30. Chicago Bears (N/A) LW: No. 30
The Bears are eliminated from the playoffs and were on the bye in Week 14.
31. Denver Broncos (N/A) LW: No. 31
Russell Wilson was injured, and the Broncos lost again. They're going to give Seattle a top-five pick because of their incompetence this season.
32. Houston Texans (N/A) LW: No. 32
The Texans nearly upset Dallas, but they remain the worst team in the league through 14 weeks.
