NFL Power Rankings Based on Super Bowl Odds (Where Does Each Team Stand Following Preseason?)
By Peter Dewey
The next time there is an NFL game, it's going to count for real.
How awesome is that?
We have made it through the preseason, and we're less than two weeks away from the Buffalo Bills and Los Angeles Rams kicking off the 2022 campaign.
Preseason has already given us a few answers on some position battles, and there are certainly more to come in the next week, mainly the Atlanta Falcons and Seattle Seahawks' quarterback battles.
Each week at BetSided, yours truly is breaking down the latest roster moves, injuries and more in our NFL Power Rankings. With the regular season right around the corner, here's my latest power rankings based on the odds at WynnBET Sportsbook to win it all:
1. Buffalo Bills (+650)
Do the Bills deserve to be favored by this much? Maybe not. But it's hard to argue that they won't be one of the best teams in the NFL.
2. Los Angeles Rams (+1000)
The defending champs are going to be extremely hard to beat as long as they stay healthy in 2022.
3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+700)
If there's one thing you don't do, it's count out Tom Brady until he's officially eliminated.
4. Kansas City Chiefs (+1000)
The Chiefs feel like a value at +1000. They may be my early Super Bowl pick...
5. Green Bay Packers (+1000)
Romeo Doubs could be Aaron Rodgers' new favorite target, and Green Bay needs someone to step up to keep up offensively in 2022.
6. Los Angeles Chargers (+1400)
The Chargers are the trendy Super Bowl pick this season, but it's going to be tough in the best division in the NFL.
7. Dallas Cowboys (+1800)
Losing Tyron Smith to a hamstring injury won't help, but Dallas has gone over .500 without him during his career.
8. Denver Broncos (+1600)
Does Russell Wilson become the new Peyton Manning in Denver?
9. Baltimore Ravens (+1800)
The Ravens are the favorites to win the AFC North, and it should be fun watching them and the Bengals duel for the division crown in 2022.
10. Cincinnati Bengals (+2000)
The Bengals are getting disrespected in the odds for a team that really worked to improve it's offensive line issues this offseason.
11. San Francisco 49ers (+1600)
This seems like too short of a price for the 49ers until we see Trey Lance play a few more regular season games.
12. Philadelphia Eagles (+2500)
The Eagles are a bit of wild card, as they appear to be a playoff team, could win the NFC East, but also could take a step back if Jalen Hurts struggles. I'm a Hurts believer, but there are some flaws in his game still.
13. Indianapolis Colts (+2500)
If Matt Ryan has something left in the tank, the Colts should win the AFC South after collapsing in 2021.
14. Arizona Cardinals (+3000)
Kliff Kingsbury and Kyler Murray are trying to beat the "tale of two seasons" allegations in the 2022 campaign.
15. Las Vegas Raiders (+3000)
The Raiders are in the toughest division in the NFL, but they could still sneak into the playoffs, especially after doing so last season.
16. New England Patriots (+4000)
The Patriots open this high because of Bill Belichick, but I am highly concerned about their offense in 2022.
17. Miami Dolphins (+3000)
Is 2022 the season Tua Tagovailoa breaks out? Miami has put all of its chips in on the former No. 5 overall pick...
18. Minnesota Vikings (+3000)
Minnesota appears destined to grab a playoff spot in the NFC, especially in a weak division.
19. New Orleans Saints (+4000)
The Saints' path to the playoffs will depend on how good the NFC East and NFC West really are in 2022.
20. Cleveland Browns (+3000)
Jacoby Brissett has a chance to prove himself with Deshaun Watson suspended, his play for Miami last season leaves me very little hope in the Browns' offense.
21. Tennessee Titans (+4000)
I'm waiting before betting any Titans' futures. This offense went through a major overhaul, and if Derrick Henry doesn't stay healthy, this team could be in trouble.
22. Pittsburgh Steelers (+7500)
It feels like the Kenny Pickett era is going to start sooner than we think...
23. Washington Commanders (+6000)
The Commanders are down Chase Young to start the season, and they'll need some help from their offense to stay afloat in the NFC.
24. Carolina Panthers (+15000)
Baker Mayfield's revenge tour starts in Cleveland, and he could make himself a lot of money this season if the Panthers exceed expectations.
25. New York Giants (+10000)
The Giants are an intriguing team in Brian Daboll's first season, but unless you like Danny Dimes, it's hard to trust the Giants to pass their win total of seven games.
26. Jacksonville Jaguars (+15000)
Trevor Lawrence and the Jags could take a jump in 2022, but until they prove that, they're staying in this spot.
27. Chicago Bears (+10000)
They have better odds than some of these teams, but the Bears seem destined for a rough season given the lack of talent on the roster.
28. Seattle Seahawks (+15000)
Pete Carroll thinks the Seahawks have "two No. 1s" at quarterback... I can promise you that Geno Smith and Drew Lock are not that...
29. New York Jets (+15000)
Joe Flacco threw a horrible pick in the Jets' final preseason game, and fans have to be praying that Zach Wilson is ready to go sooner rather than later.
30. Detroit Lions (+20000)
Hopefully the Lions won't crash and burn with heightened expectation in Dan Campbell's second season.
31. Atlanta Falcons (+25000)
This quarterback battle doesn't really matter, as I don't see the Falcons making the playoffs no matter who is under center in 2022.
32. Houston Texans (+25000)
The Texans may be hard to watch at times this season, but there is a solid amount of young talent as well. Rookie running back Dameon Pierce may become a prop bet/fantasy darling in 2022.
