NFL Teams to Sell High on After Week 7 (Don't Expect Giants Success to Continue)

We're seven weeks into the NFL season, so we're starting to get a strong idea of what teams are contenders, and what teams are already starting to look at next year's draft class.

With that being said, I think there's some pretenders out there. Teams who are not nearly as good as their record indicates, and who we'll see regress as the season goes on.

Let's dive into three teams I think you should sell high on heading into Week 8 of the NFL season.

NFL Teams to Sell High on in NFL Week 8

New York Giants

I have been getting roasted on Twitter the past two weeks for claiming the Giants aren't as good as their record, but I stand by it. I'll die on this hill, and I have the numbers to back me up.

Heading into their game against the Seahawks this week, they rank 27th in net yards per play at -0.7. Only the Falcons, Texans, Cardinals, Steelers, and Titans rank worse in that stat.

Their biggest red flag is their ability to stop the run. They rank dead last in opponent yards per carry, allowing 5.7 yards per rush. Fortunately for them, they ran into moronic head coaching by Doug Pederson last week against the Jaguars. Jacksonville was averaging 6.8 yards per rush against them, but yet decided to call for a pass on 67.69% of plays.

Credit to them for winning close games and for not making mistakes that lose themselves games, but this is a team you're going to want to sell high on moving forward.

They're 3-point underdogs to the Seahawks in Week 8.

Minnesota Vikings

The Minnesota Vikings are 5-1 after their Week 7 BYE, but don't expect their record to stay as clean moving forward. They're 25th in net yards per play, largely due to poor performance from their defense.

The Vikings defense ranks 30th in opponent yards per play, and dead last in opponent yards per pass attempt, allowing teams to gain an average of 7.9 yards per throw. Those kinds of defensive numbers aren't sustainable over the season. Sure, they may win the NFC North, but their record is going to regress to where it should be sooner rather than later.

They're 3.5-point favorites at home to the Cardinals in Week 8.

Tennessee Titans

I've mentioned net yards per play a couple of times in this article, and it's the Tennessee Titans who rank dead last in the NFL in that stat at -1.1.

This isn't new to the Titans, who finished with the No. 1 seed in the AFC last year despite ranking in the bottom 10 in net yards per play. With that being said, they have been even worse this year than last year, and I expect losses to come in bunches for them moving forward. Their rush attack, led by Derrick Henry, is a shell of its former self. The Titans rank 26th in yards per rush, averaging only 3.7 yards per carry.

They're 1.5-point favorites in Houston in Week 8.
