NFL Week 1 Picks and Predictions From 'Dumb and Dumber' to 'The Hangover'
If you're not having fun, why the hell would you bet? That's my mentality every time I make a pick.
Let's have some fun and give our viewing experience a shot of adrenaline by throwing a few bucks down on this game. I want it all and I want it now.
It's that mentality that led me to combine another favorite of mine with betting -- movies. As if I don't repeat the quotes enough in real life, now I get to showcase them as part of my picks. Yay!
So that's the idea. My weekly NFL picks using GIFs from movies to help tell the story.
They won't always be right, but they'll always be fun.
Cowboys at Bucs (-8) Prediction
Cowboys bettors heading into this game.
Cowboys bettors after the game.
Pick: Lay the points. Take the Bucs -8 at WynnBET. Don't be dumb or dumber.
ALERT - WynnBET is offering a shot to 'Triple the Spread' ahead of Thursday night's game. If you don't expect a blowout, you can grab the Cowboys at +22.5 to cover; at even odds to boot!
Steelers at Bills (-6.5) Prediction
Josh Allen is the new Hansel.
Ben Roethlisberger remains Zoolander.
Pick: Like their walk-off in the movie, I like the young gun in this one. Hansel is too hot to stop.
Browns at Chiefs (-6.5) Prediction
A lot of people think the Browns figured out the Chiefs offensive system in the playoffs last year. And there's always the idea of a Super Bowl loss hangover.
I disagree.
Pick: Andy Reid is a master when given time to prepare. I expect a new wrinkle in their offense this year and feel like the Chiefs understand the importance of a hot start after a slow finish last season. Take the Chiefs at home to win by a touchdown.
Dolphins at Patriots (-3) Prediction
Mac Jones is the new big man on campus in Foxborough after being named the Patriots starting quarterback.
I think it's a bit of smoke and mirrors.
Pick: I'm taking the Dolphins for the road upset. The Dude abides.
Ravens (-4.5) at Raiders Prediction
The Ravens have been decimated by injuries this preseason and are playing this game without their first-round pick and top running back.
The good news is they still have Lamar Jackson.
Pick: The Raiders' defense is more porous than the zombies in "Shaun of the Dead." The Birds will feast on the leftovers. Go with the Ravens.
So there you have it. Five picks, five movies. Now let's all have some fun this weekend -- and hopefully win some money.
