If you're wondering just how powerful the NFL actually is, consider the matchups on the Week 7 slate of games.

Only one game features two teams with a winning record (Colts vs. Titans), the Sunday afternoon Game of the Week features two teams coming off of a loss (Chiefs vs. 49ers), the primetime matchup of Steelers vs. Dolphins could have two backups under center if they don't pass concussion tests, and the Chicago Bears and New England Patriots have the lowest total on the board besides the New York Jets and Denver Broncos.

And yet, in the midst of the "Sports Equinox," it will outrate everything else on television by a country mile.

While the games may not be any good, there's several useful trends to pick up before placing your bets. When the aforementioned Chiefs head to San Francisco to face the 49ers, they'll take on a quarterback in Jimmy Garoppolo who owns the best against-the-spread record of any quarterback not named Patrick Mahomes as an underdog; going 16-4 in his career ATS in that spot.

Meanwhile, if you're brave enough to back the Broncos ATS as a short favorite at Mile High, it's worth knowing that Russell Wilson on a short week is only 2-8 ATS since 2019. Via Evan Abrams of TAN, he is the least profitable quarterback (61 of 61) in that position.
