The hot streak continues!

We went 3-2 last night for +1.56 units, including cashing in on the Kraken as +205 underdogs against the Flames.

That brings the hot streak, which dates back to Sunday, October 23rd, to 21-12 (+8.75 units). After a horrendous start to the season, we're now up a few units in profit, which is great to see.

Can the hot streak continue? There's only one way to find out.

There's only two games on Wednesday, so I only have two bets for tonight. Let's jump into them.

NHL Best Bets Record-to-Date

  • 29-25 (+3.19 units)

NHL Best Bets for Today (Wednesday, November 2)

  • Flyers/Maple Leafs UNDER 6.5 (+105)
  • Penguins/Sabres OVER 6.5 (-115)

Flyers/Maple Leafs UNDER 6.5 (+105)

With the way the Toronto Maple Leafs have been playing this season, I have no interesting laying -300 juice on them or taking their puck line. In the same breath, the Flyers underlying analytics are so bad (last in CORSI%), that I can't convince myself to bet on them either.

I'm going to bet on the UNDER instead.

The Maple Leafs couldn't hit the ocean from a boat with their shooting this season. They rank 27th in the NHL in shooting percentage, finding the back of the net on just 8.6% of their shots. Felix Sandstrom is likely to get the start in net for the Flyers tonight, and while he hasn't posted as good of numbers as Carter Hart, he still has a decent save percentage at .900.

Meanwhile, the Flyers are 29th in expected goals per 60 minutes at 2.49.

I'll take a shot on the UNDER tonight at plus-money.

Penguins/Sabres OVER 6.5 (-115)

Speaking of shooting percentage, the Buffalo Sabres are second in the NHL in that stat heading into tonight's game against the Penguins. Through the first few weeks of the season, they rank third in the stat, finding the back of the net on 12.42% of their shots.

Now, they take on a Pittsburgh Penguins team that has been an offensive juggernaut so far this season. They rank second in 5-on-5 expected goals for, at 3.32, and seventh in 5-on-5 high-danger scoring chances.

These two teams are scoring a combined average of 7.18 goals per game, so I'll gladly take the OVER at 6.5.
