No T.J. Watt, Diontae Johnson Make Bengals a Live Dog at Steelers

Looks like I picked a bad week to grab the Pittsburgh Steelers early as my Week 3 NFL Survivor team here at BetSided.

The Steelers will not have two of their best playmakers on both sides of the ball this week when the Cincinnati Bengals come to town. Pittsburgh announced that the newly extended T.J. Watt will be out this week with a groin injury. Watt had practiced throughout the week but was ruled out for this week as of Saturday.

The Steelers will also not have their leading wide receiver in Diontae Johnson as well for today after suffering a knee injury on the final play of the game in Week 2 against the Las Vegas Raiders. Johnson had been off to a terrific start this season, leading Pittsburgh receivers in targets, receptions and touchdowns through the first two games.

The line at WynnBET has adjusted to the news as well. At the beginning of the week, Pittsburgh was a 4-point favorite against the Bengals, but has since dropped a full point to -3. Cincinnati is coming off a 20-17 loss against the Chicago Bears, nearly coming back to cover as 2-point underdogs on the road.

Additionally, the total has dropped two points as well from 45 down to 43 at WynnBET. There is a bit of reverse line movement here as 86% of the money have come in on the over despite the line moving down.

The Steelers haven't lost back-to-back games at home since the 2018 season, and this was before the news came out that Ben Roethlisberger is dealing with a pectoral injury that has him in pain every time he throws the football.

Meanwhile, the Bengals will also be down a receiver as well as second-year star Tee Higgins is likely out with a shoulder injury.

Kickoff is today at 1pm ET on CBS.

Are you on the Bengals with the sharps? Or riding the public play with the Steelers? What about on the over/under?
