North Carolina State Deserves More Respect in Odds to Win ACC
By Reed Wallach
North Carolina State knocked off Clemson at home last Saturday, sending shockwaves through the ACC and putting the conference on notice. The Wolfpack’s defense stifled Clemson, limiting them to 111 passing yards and just 49 plays.
It was an impressive performance from a veteran squad, so just how far can Dave Doeber’s team go?
Here are the updated odds for the ACC, per WynnBET Sportsbook, and I see a ton of value projecting out the rest of the season.

Let’s start with the ACC format. There are no divisions in the conference so it's simply the top two teams. UNC may be out of the running already with two losses in the conference while the Tigers suffered their first defeat in conference play.
The Tigers should still be favored considering their defense and pedigree, but they are far from the odds-on favorite like they are being considered The team's offensive line is holding back their ability to move the ball as seen by their struggle against NC State last weekend.
Speaking of, the Wolfpack is the best bet on the board right now. They not only have the tiebreaker over the favorite, Clemson, but also host UNC at home to end the regular season.
The Wolfpack should have their odds cut in half at least. Yes, they travel to Miami and Wake Forest but this number is way too valuable with all of the positive indicators around the roster.
While Wake Forest got off to a good start with a win over Virginia last weekend, the team plays UNC, NC State, and Clemson in succession later this year.
Virginia Tech is more intriguing of the two at 10-1 with a win over the Tar Heels already and a very favorable schedule. If you want to go further down the board, Pittsburgh sits at 30-1 with a home game against Clemson. If they can win their road matchup against Va Tech on October 16th, things can break the Panthers way for sure.
Those are intriguing options, but nothing tops North Carolina State, who are off to a 1-0 start with their biggest competition out of the way.
