North Dakota State vs Kansas Prediction and Odds for Thursday, November 10 (Back Shooting Regression for the Bison)
By Josh Yourish
North Dakota State has a gauntlet laid down to start their season. They opened at No. 10 Arkansas on Monday, and now three days later head to Lawrence to face No. 5 Kansas. The defending champion Jayhawks had some turnover, but Jalen Wilson is back and five-star freshman, Gradey Dick had a nice showing in his NCAA debut.
NDSU is coming off a 76-58 loss to Arkansas and Kansas is ready to keep rolling after an 89-64 win over Omaha. Let’s check out the odds for this one and I’ll tell you how I’m betting it.

North Dakota State vs. Kansas Prediction and Pick
Kansas is going to be a very good team once again. They routed Omaha even with Bill Self watching from home due to his self-imposed suspension to start the season. The Jayhawks won’t need Self to win this one against North Dakota State either, but the Bison could be more comfortable against top-level competition after facing Arkansas.
Teams like NDSU can stay in games with top 10 teams if they can shoot the lights out. The Bison only lost by 18 to Arkansas while shooting 5/21 from the three point line. A year ago, they shot 35.8% from three and if they can shoot it better than 21% in Game 2, they have a much better shot against Kansas.
The Jayhawks have a lot of new faces on the court as many of their top contributors have moved on. Gradey Dick will be a key for this team in his freshman year, which is rare in Kansas. Typically, Self relies on more veteran players, but with Wilson being the biggest piece back from last year’s team, Dick might be handed the keys. I think there are still some questions about this team in Lawrence and I expect the shooting to improve from the Bison from their performance against Arkansas. So, give me the Bison and the points tonight.
Pick: North Dakota State +24.5 (-110)
