Northwestern vs. Wisconsin Prediction and Pick
This game has the makings of a low scoring game, and while it’s possible for Wisconsin to cover the 24-point spread as favorites in a game that could be under 41 total points, I just find it much less likely.
Wisconsin’s offense has come around as of late, especially last week when they scored 52 points, but for most of the year they have been mediocre at best on offense and I’m not sold. I don’t believe quarterback Graham Mertz turned a corner after throwing three touchdown passes against Rutgers. Prior to last week Mertz had just three touchdown passes all season and seven interceptions. That’s the quarterback that he really is.
Wisconsin’s ground game will move the ball well against Northwestern’s 125th-ranked rushing defense that is allowing 226.2 rushing yards per game. And Wisconsin’s defense will have no issue halting the Wildcats high school-caliber offense.
I think the Badgers are going to win, I just don’t see them putting up enough points to cover the 24-point spread.
Pick: Northwestern +24
