Notre Dame vs. Virginia Prediction, Odds, Spread and Over/Under for College Football Week 11
By Matt De Saro
The Notre Dame Fighting Irish head to Scott Stadium in Week 11 to do battle with the Virginia Cavaliers. Winners of seven in a row, the Irish are ranked seventh in the nation and opened as 5.0-point road favorites. Notre Dame is coming off a dominant 34-6 win over Navy despite a slow start.
The Cavaliers are on a hot streak of their own after winning four of their last five. The lone loss came last week to BYU in a real slugfest that ended 66-49 in favor of the Cougars. The team is led by Brennan Armstong who is second in the nation with 3,557 passing yards. Pittsburgh’s Kenny Pickett ranks third but trails by nearly 400 yards. Virginia will need their defense to step up in this game if Virginia hopes to secure a win.

Notre Dame vs. Virginia Prediction and Pick
While I believe that Notre Dame is a far superior team to Virginia, anything can happen with an offense this potent. Virginia has one of the most impressive and dangerous passing attacks in the nation and can hang with any team on any given week.
Notre Dame’s passing defense is good, but not great. It should be noted that Armstrong is questionable heading into this game with an undisclosed injury in the loss the BYU. The junior quarterback is this team’s offense and if he isn’t ready to go, Notre Dame will win handily.
Even if Armstrong can go, he won’t be at 100%. He will need to be at the top of his game to keep pace with Notre Dame and hope to come away from Week 11 with a win. The Cavaliers also have had some defensive issues lately, including coughing up 66 points last week. Overall, they are a good defensive team but things have been shaky the last few weeks with teams scoring a lot.
I think that Notre Dame takes advantage of a defense that is struggling and a quarterback not entirely healthy.
Pick: Notre Dame -5.0 (-110)
