Now's The Time To Bet Nick Chubb For Offensive Player Of The Year

The most underrated running back in the league continues to be undervalued in the futures market. But that’s okay because it gives us amazing value. 

Nick Chubb has been absolutely dominant this season. He’s third in carries, second in rushing yards and second in touchdowns. Yet, he’s outside the top 5 in the Offensive Player of the Year odds.

FanDuel currently has Chubb’s odds to win the award at +1400, placing him behind Justin Jefferson, Cooper Kupp, Lamar Jackson, Jalen Hurts and Stefon Diggs. The two quarterbacks on this list are in the MVP conversation, so they likely won’t win both awards. As for the receivers ahead of Chubb, they are much too far ahead of Chubb.

Jefferson has been inconsistent to start the season, and Diggs has been good, but not otherworldly great in the last two weeks. Kupp is putting up insane numbers, but that’s because he’s being force-fed the ball.

Chubb is carrying an offense that is playing with a backup quarterback and no true No. 1 wide receiver. He’s on pace for over 1,900 yards and 21 touchdowns this season. Unless Kupp surpasses his record-breaking season from last year, Chubb should be first in line for the award. 

This week, Chubb is facing the Los Angeles Chargers, who have struggled against the run for years. This season, the Chargers are 31st in opponent yards per carry. Chubb is already averaging 5.7 yards per carry. Against a porous defense like the Chargers, this will be the game where the NFL world wakes up to what Chubb is accomplishing right now – which will take some of the value Chubb has right now away.
