The Phoenix Suns' 17-game winning streak sealed a perfect month of November, just the seventh time a team has gone perfect in a month in NBA history.

The most impressive part? The Suns knocked off the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday, who entered the game with the best record in the NBA at 18-2. Yeah, Phoenix is for real, as if we didn’t know already.

The Suns made the NBA Finals in the 2020-21 season, and with the Los Angeles Lakers dealing with several injuries to open the season, the Western Conference looks like the Suns or Warriors to lose.

Yet, Phoenix is third in the latest odds to win the conference, and it is behind the… Utah Jazz?

Latest Odds to Win NBA’s Western Conference

  • Golden State Warriors: +225
  • Utah Jazz: +425
  • Phoenix Suns: +500
  • Los Angeles Lakers: +550
  • Denver Nuggets: +1000
  • Los Angeles Clippers: +1000
  • Dallas Mavericks: +1800

Look, we all know how great a regular season team Utah tends to be, but this is the same team that lost in the second round of the playoffs to a Clippers team that didn’t have Kawhi Leonard!

The Suns took down the Lakers, albeit without Anthony Davis, in the first round of the playoffs last season and they look even better so far this year.

I can live with the Warriors (who should be getting Klay Thompson back) as the favorite, but there’s no way Phoenix should be behind the Jazz in these odds. The fact that you can even “buy low” on the Suns after a 17-game streak is crazy, and they’re certainly worth a bet at this point in the season.
