If you haven’t watched – or bet on Shai Gilgeous-Alexander this NBA season, you’re doing everything all wrong.

Gilgeous-Alexander is lighting teams up night in and night out on extremely efficient figures. He’s averaging 31.5 points, 4.4 rebounds and 5.8 assists per game with splits of 54.9/37.8/94. He’s absolutely dominating the competition.

So much so that FanDuel has moved his Most Improved Player Odds from +850 to +200 in a week. Currently, he’s the favorite at +160 at BetMGM, followed by Tyrese Maxey at +300 and Lauri Markkanenn at +500. SGA has a hold on this award right now, and it’s certainly deserving.

Last season, he averaged 24.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 5.9 assists on 45.3% from the floor, 30% from three and 81% from the free throw line. While I expect him to cool off just a little bit, his efficiency leap is what will make or break his accolades this season.

On top of Most Improved Player, SGA is in line for his first All-Star appearance and even a spot on an All-NBA team.

If he continues to perform at this level, the value for him to win MIP will be gone before Christmas hits. Now is the time to get on the bandwagon, or else you will just be waiting for a slump or for another player to have the month of his life.

SGA is on track to be one of the six best guards in the league this season. Join him on that journey and back him for MIP.
