Nuggets vs. Bucks prediction and odds for NBA Summer League (Denver undervalued?)

The Denver Nuggets may be undervalued in their NBA Summer League matchup against the Milwaukee Bucks.

The defending champion Denver Nuggets make their NBA Summer League debut against the Milwaukee Bucks and MarJon Beauchamp.

Milwaukee has an interesting Summer League roster, headed by Beauchamp, Drew Timme, Chris Livingston and Nico Mannion.

The Bucks are favored in this game against Denver, who actually has a decent amount of NBA talent on its Summer League roster.

Peyton Watson and Collin Gillespie will both suit up for Denver, while the team has some intriguing rookies in Jalen Pickett and Julian Strawther also on the squad. It’s important to note that last season’s first-round pick Christian Braun is not listed on Denver’s roster.

Let’s dive into the odds and my best bet for this Summer League matchup:

Nuggets vs. Bucks odds, spread and total

Spread

  • Nuggets +3 (-110)
  • Bucks -3 (-110)

Moneyline

  • Nuggets: +135
  • Bucks: -155

Total

  • 181.5 (Over -110/Under -110)

Nuggets vs. Bucks prediction and pick

I don’t mind taking the points with Denver in this spot.

Neither team has a ton of proven NBA talent on the court, but I do think Watson has a chance to be a breakout player for the Nuggets next season. I’m intrigued to see him as the potential No. 1 option in Summer League.

Until we really see how these teams play, I don’t mind taking the points in an exhibition matchup.

This is actually the second-largest spread on the slate today, but I don’t see a huge discrepancy between the two squads – even though Denver isn’t playing last year’s first-round pick.

Pick: Nuggets +3 (-110)
