Odds to be No. 1 Pick in 2023 NFL Draft (C.J. Stroud, Bryce Young Top List)
By Reed Wallach
Football season is almost here, but it's never too early to see how the betting market perceives the 2023 NFL Draft.
This market is very speculative, but with the high end quarterbacks at the top of the college football landscape as well as freakish pass rushers, we can use this as a guide to keep tabs on the best teams in the country.
In this case, the top four choices for the No. 1 pick in 2023, at least by consensus sportsbooks all play for the top two teams: Alabama and Ohio State. Here is the full list of odds:
2023 NFL Draft No. 1 Pick Odds
- C.J. Stroud: +200
- Bryce Young: +250
- Will Anderson: +300
- Paris Johnson: +900
- Tyler Van Dyke: +1600
- Jaxon Smith-Njigba: +1600
- Phil Jurkovec: +1600
- Spencer Rattler: +1800
Quarterbacks Headline Likely No. 1 Picks in 2023 NFL Draft
The top two choices to win the Heisman Trophy are at the top of the odds board in C.J. Stroud and reigning winner Bryce Young, but we have seen in recent years that this market is far from settled ahead of the season.
For starters, it's not known who will get the first pick in the NFL Draft. If a team that has an answer at quarterback (see: last year's Jacksonville Jaguars) it may be better off taking someone like Will Anderson, the havoc-seeking pass rusher from Alabama, who is coming off 34.5 tackles for loss last season.
Heading into the season, it's a three-man race the top pick with Stroud and Young duking it out as the signal callers for the two most prolific offenses in addition to Anderson, who may very well be the top prospect in some people's eyes despite the premium on quarterbacks.
As both college and pro football gets underway in the next few weeks, keep an eye on who is wowing on Saturdays and which teams fall off the pace early on Sunday's to start betting into this market.
