Oddsmakers See Saints In Trouble At Home Without Kamara, Ingram
By Matt De Saro
The New Orleans Saints and Buffalo Bills are playoff hopefuls that are each dealing with massive issues over the last few weeks. The Bills were embarrassed 41-15 by the Indianapolis Colts after allowing Jonathan Taylor to rush for five touchdowns in the blowout. The Bills were Super Bowl favorites just a few weeks ago and now they are 6-4 and second in the division after also getting beat by the lowly Jaguars.
The Saints’ issues are more injury-related and not so much based on a lack of performance. All that matters is that the Saints went from 5-2 to 5-5 in three weeks and haven’t won a game since October. Taking a quick look at their injury report, it's not hard to see why. But, before we get into that, we have to look at the odds movement for the Bills vs Saints.
Here are the updated odds for this game, courtesy of WynnBET Sportsbook.
Bills vs Saints Updated Spread and Total Odds
Spread:
- Bills: -6.0 (-110) -- opened at -4.0
- Saints: +6.0 (-110) -- opened at +4.0
Moneyline:
- Bills: -260 / opened at -184
- Saints: +220 / opened at +154
Total:
- 45.5 (Over -110/Under -110) / Opened 47.5
As we can see, the Bills have gotten the lion’s share of the betting attention early in the week and it has pushed the spread two points in the Bills’ favor. This is due in large part to the aforementioned injury report from the saints.
First off, they lost Jameis Winston to injury three weeks ago against the Bucs. Trevor Siemian has handled things since then but is a massive downgrade. He is also on the injury report this week but practiced fully yesterday.
Alvin Kamara is dealing with a knee injury that has held him out of the last couple of games and was unable to practice at all this week. That was to be expected but the big issue now is Mark Ingram. Ingram was dealing with a knee issue as well but was a limited participant on Monday. However, he was unable to go on Tuesday after presumably reaggravating his injury. Based on this information it is reasonable to assume he won’t be able to play tomorrow. This would also explain the total falling two points from its opening line.
