They say opposites attract, right? Because we've got two teams going in opposite directions as the 29-31-8 San Jose Sharks host the 40-25-5 Edmonton Oilers tonight at 10:30 p.m. EST.

Edmonton has won four straight and scored 22 combined goals in those victories while the Sharks have lost three straight and given up at least four goals in each contest.

With the playoffs on the horizon and the Oilers hoping to secure playoff positioning, they're locked in and playing fantastic. They have two wins over San Jose already this season - can they make it three in a row or will the Sharks snap out of their funk?

Let's check out the odds from WynnBET as find a winner in this Oilers vs Sharks matchup:

Oilers vs. Sharks Prediction and Pick

Edmonton's offense is downright ridiculous right now. The Oilers are 10-3 over their last 13 games and are averaging 4.93 goals per game, which would easily lead the league over the course of the season.

Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl are the first players to cross 100 points on the year and newly-acquired Evander Kane has been on fire as well. This is an All-Star offense and they're playing like it.

I do have to admit their road performance has been concerning. They're 1-5 in their last six away from home, but today's matchup with San Jose represents a great spot to get right. The Sharks are 2-12 over their previous 14 as a home underdog and have really struggled defensively.

The Oilers rank eighth in the league in CORSI percentage (a percentage of shot differential) while San Jose is third-to-last, so advanced metrics agree with surface-level statistics: Edmonton should throttle the Sharks today.

I'll side with the flaming-hot team over the one that can't stop anyone -- give me the Oilers on the puck line to sweep the season series over San Jose.

Pick: Oilers -1.5 (+130)
