The Big 12 might be falling apart at the seams, and losing it’s two biggest brands, but the teams that they do have are playing great and making for some of the best matchups in the sport. \

A week after TCU and Kansas played a great game, we have the TCU Horned Frogs hosting the Oklahoma State Cowboys playing to see who remains the last unbeaten team in the conference.

It may just be one last dying breath, but the Big 12 is back and it’s beautiful.

Oklahoma State vs. TCU Prediction and Pick

Oklahoma State is coasting off the reputation of their defense from a year ago. In 2021 they were a top 10 scoring defense in the country and No. 5 in yards allowed per game. By pretty much any metric they were fantastic on that side of the ball and if it wasn’t for a tough loss in the Big 12 championship to Baylor they might’ve been in the playoff. They are not the same team this year.

In 2022, the Oklahoma State Cowboys are 104th in total defense and 58th in scoring defense. They give up 118 yards on the ground and 235 yards through the air on average this season. The only reason this is a top 10 team right now is because they were at the end of last year and haven’t slipped up yet. That slip up is coming and it might be a big time loss to TCU.

The Horned Frogs are led by Max Duggan and they are third in the country in total offense because of how great he’s been. Duggan is second in the country in passing yards per attempt at 10.3 just behind C.J. Stroud and second to Stroud in passing efficiency rating.

He has 14 touchdowns through the air to just one interception and 204 yards and three touchdowns on the ground. He isn’t even really on the board for the Heisman trophy anywhere but he should be and likely will be after a big game this week.

Pick: TCU -3.5 (-110)
