Oklahoma State vs. West Virginia Prediction and Odds: Trust WVU At Home
By Matt De Saro
The Oklahoma State Cowboys hit the road on Tuesday night to take on their Big 12 rivals, the West Virginia Mountaineers. This will be the second away game for the Cowboys and it kicks off a three-game road trip for the fourth-ranked team in the conference. The Cowboys beat Oral Roberts in their lone road game 78-77 in overtime.
The Mountaineers also won their last game by a slim margin after beating Kansas State 71-68 on Saturday. The win moves WVU to 12-2 on the year and they are tied with the Cowboys for the fourth spot in the Big 12. The win was nice to see after getting blown out by the Texas Longhorns 74-59 a few days earlier. The Mountaineers' only other loss was early in the season against Marquette.

Oklahoma State vs. West Virginia Prediction and Pick
It took some time, but the Cowboys finally got their first conference win on the year when they beat No. 14 Texas. It was the third game in a row that the Cowboys have played a ranked opponent and they have Texas Texas and Baylor next on the schedule. They were beaten by Houston and Kansas before upsetting Texas. Sandwiched between those games and their next two tough games, this matchup feels like a “must-win” or OK-State will be in danger of losing three games in a row and four of five.
Yet the Mountaineers are at home, where they have yet to be beaten in nine games this season. They have two players in double digits and one, Taz Sherman, who is averaging over 20 points per game. Where the Mountaineers separate themselves from the Cowboys for me is on the defensive side of the ball. WVU is the 28th ranked scoring defense and allows opposing teams to average just 61.4 points per game.
After failing to cover in their last two games, I am going to bet that the Mountaineers continue their hot streak at home and with their 10th in a row. Their top 30 defense should have a field day with the Cowboys offense that ranks 157th in scoring and has just 99.8 points per 100 possessions. Give me the home team as slight favorites here.
Pick: West Virginia -3 (-110)
