The 2-7 battle of the Big 12 Tournament quarterfinals go down at 6 p.m. ET local time in Kansas City when the No. 2 Baylor Bears face the No. 7 Oklahoma Sooners.

The Bears defeated the Sooners by double digits in both matches this season, although both games had radically different paces to them. Baylor pushed the tempo in an 84-74 win at home back on January 4th. On the road later in the month, the Sooners forced a more letharic-paced game resulting in a 65-51 victory for the Bears.

Oklahoma vs. Baylor Prediction and Pick

Both games went to the Bears by double digits, but the oddsmakers are hanging a relatively low line, which has me intrigued on the Oklahoma side.

The Sooners are playing for their NCAA Tournament lives, right on the bubble via BracketMatrix, and a win against a Quad 1 team like Baylor would go a long way in getting them into the Field of 68.

Furthermore, it's difficult to envision a scenario where Baylor loses their No. 1 seed, even with a loss to Oklahoma. The Bears are a consensus 1-seed by every major bracketologist in the country with Gonzaga.

As for the matchup itself, Sooners head coach Porter Moser knows the strength of his team, getting quality looks inside. OU ranks 24th in the country in effective field goal percentage and top 6 in the nation in 2-point percentage (57.6%). If they slow down tempo and actually get to their spots on the court, they'll hang with Baylor throughout.

LEAN: Oklahoma +7.5 (-110)
