Oklahoma vs. Kansas Prediction, Odds, Spread and Over/Under for College Football Week 8
By Matt De Saro
Oklahoma, the No. 4 ranked team in the nation, will visit Kansas Memorial Stadium in Week 8 to face off against the Kansas Jayhawks. The Sooners are a perfect 7-0 after beating TCU last week and covering as a 12.5 favorite. It was their second cover in a row but they are only 3-4 ATS on the season.
The Jayhawks are not only on a five-game losing streak but they have also failed to cover a single game this season. They are coming off a 27-point L to Texas Tech as 18.5 underdogs. While it is impossible to ignore the fact that Kansas is a very bad team, the spread is nearly 40-points so it’s not such a cut and dry choice.

Oklahoma vs. Kansas Prediction Prediction and Pick
Oklahoma will win this game easily behind their offense and their defense should have little problem keeping Kansas in check.
Caleb Williams is the presumed starter moving forward and has thrown for 609 yards and six touchdowns with no interceptions in limited action. Kennedy Brooks leads the rushing attack for the Sooners with 688 yards and seven touchdowns.
On the Kansas side of things, they have a quarterback and a running back, sure. But the similarities really end there. The team managed just 273 yards of total offense against Texas Tech last weekend with QB Jason Bean passing for 80-yards and one interception. That is not his first-quarter stats, that is what he was able to muster up for the entire game. RB Devin Neal added 54 yards to the pathetic performance from the Jayhawks. Additionally, Texas Tech totaled 438 yards in offense. That game leaves Bean with 932 yards on the year but a TD to INT ratio of 5/4.
I have a hard time with this spread because it is nearing 40 and some teams just don’t play hard when they are up that big. However, looking back to Week 2 of the Sooner’s season does give me hope. They beat up on Western Carolina and covered a 52.5 point spread, eventually winning by 76 points. While their other biggest win came against TCU by 21, the other teams on the Sooners’ schedule have not been as bad as the Jayhawks.
Despite the massive difference in talent between these two teams, 38-points is too much for me to feel great about so ill be siding with the OVER in this game. The over is 10-3 between these two teams in their last 13 games combined and I think this week is another notch on that record.
Prediction: Oklahoma vs Kansas OVER 67.5 (-110)
