Ole Miss vs. LSU Prediction and Odds (Rebels in Trouble Without Top Scorer)
By Matt De Saro
The Ole Miss Rebels open up a short road trip tonight against the No. 25 LSU Tigers at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center in Baton Rouge. The Rebels are having a pretty rough season and currently sit at 11-10 and in 13th place in the SEC. They were able to beat Kansas State 67-56 their last time out. But before that, Ole Miss went on a 2-7 run of failure.
While the Tigers are ranked, they haven’t been playing all that great at all. They are 1-4 SU and ATS in their last five games with losses to Arkansas, Alabama, and Tennessee in straight games. Their last game was a loss on the road to TCU 77-68. The Tigers currently rank sixth in the SEC but are in a bit of a tailspin right now.

Ole Miss vs. LSU Prediction and Pick
While LSU is a much better team on paper, they have struggled a lot lately, especially against lesser opponents. In their most recent massive failure, LSU lost to TCU as favorites after scoring less than 30 points in the first half. They never really recovered due to their awful night from the field. LSU shot just 36.9% overall and allowed TCU to shoot nearly 50%.
The Tigers' offense now ranks outside the top 100 in overall scoring and their three-point shooting is outside of the top 220. Here is where I have to mention that the Tigers do have the No. 8 ranked scoring defense in the nation-- yet even they have been underperforming lately. The team gives up an average less than 60 points, but has gone five straight games giving up at least 64 points to opponents.
All of this would have me betting on Ole Miss here were it not for one major issue. The Rebels will be without their best player and leading scorer Jarkel Joiner. With an offense that is already ranked 286th in the nation, this is a massive blow to my confidence in them to compete here. As much as I hate to take such a large spread in a game with such a small total I think this game warrants such a play.
Lean: LSU Tigers -12.5 (-110)
