Ole Miss vs. Memphis Prediction and Pick for Saturday, December 3rd (Trust Rebels as Underdogs)
By Reed Wallach
Ole Miss travels to FedEx Forum in Memphis to take on the surging Tigers, who are trying to score a SEC non conference victory with transfer guard Kendric Davis leading the way.
The Rebels are hoping to get lead guard Daeshun Ruffin back from injury for his season debut after he averaged nearly 13 points per game in his freshman season. In his place, freshman Amaree Abram has performed well as the foca point of the offense, can the two handle the Memphis ball pressure?

Ole Miss vs. Memphis Prediction and Pick
Ole Miss may struggle with the Memphis high pressure defense, the group is turning it over on nearly 21% of their plays, which is 269th in the nation, but I believe that their ability to crash the glass can be an equalizer of sorts. The team is top 10 in the country in offensive rebounding rate and will go up against a Memphis team that is middling on the defensive glass.
Kermit Davis' team plays a morphing zone defense that could give Memphis' offense some troubles, even with the dynamic Davis at the helm. The SMU transfer has a usage rate north of 31% and is shooting 36% from the three-point line, but this is a middle of the pack offense that isn't built to attack zone defenses with their motion offense.
Both teams love to pressure the other, but I don't expect Memphis to push this game on offense and pull away from a Rebels group that may get their bright young piece back from injury. The Rebels can stay within three possessions with their ability to generate second chances.
